The building, under construction at 550 S. Tryonj St., was originally to be known as the Wachovia Corporate Center and serve as the new headquarters ofWachovia Corp. Those plans changed after San Francisco-based bough Wachovia at the endof 2008. Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) owns both the building and an adjoininyg culturalcampus that’s also under construction. The culturao campus, with its museums and other features, is expectec to carry the WellsFargo name. Welle Fargo Chief Executive John Stumpf has said the buildinb at the corner of Soutj Tryon and Stonewall streets remains inthe bank’s plans for Charlotted and will house Wells Fargo employees. The office towetr is scheduled for completionnext spring.
